Techniques
The Foot File vs. The Blade
The "Foot File" is a safe alternative to the blade. The coarse, sandpaper-like texture safely and effectively removes calluses and dead skin from your heels. You will notice less build up between pedicures saving your time and money!
Foot Files are more sanitary than blades for two reasons:
1. Foot Files do not penetrate the skin
2. Foot Files can be sanitized more effectively than blades
The use of a blade to soften calluses is not only unsafe, it is illegal in many states. Tiny skin particles left on the blade can spread unsightly skin conditions and transmit deadly diseases such as Hepatitis, Staph, and HIV.
Even a blade that has never been used can be contaminated with germs that cause skin infections and, if left untreated, can spread into the bone.
In addition to health risks, blades are only a temporary fix to rough heels. With continual use, calluses are likely to grow back thicker, and more resistant to treatment.
